Dynamic Strength of Martensitic Steels Welds in the Car Safety Components

Abstract:

Heterogenita v oblasti svarového spoje je podstatným omezením při dimenzování konstrukčních celků. Při zkušebním zatěžování dochází k nerovnoměrnému přerozdělení plasticity již ve stadiu mikroplastické deformace, což podstatně ovlivňuje získané údaje o statické i dynamické pevnosti materiálu a znemožňuje evidovat ?čistě? hodnoty kritického pásma. Navíc normalizované testovací postupy nevypovídají o hodnotách pevnosti za podmínek jednoosého zatěžování. Proto byla navržena metodika s použitím simulovaného tepelného zatížení aplikovaného na plochý vzorek s cílem vyvolání potřebné testované délky homogenní struktury odpovídající pásmu tepelně ovlivněné oblasti svaru. Řešeným postupem byla navržena testovací metodika i metodika přípravy zkušebních vzorků, doplňující standardizované postupy testování. Souhrn navržených metodik umožňuje vyšetřování hodnot kritického pásma reálného svaru s možnou predikcí statické i dynamické pevnosti jednoosého namáhání v oblasti deformačních rychlostí působících při nárazu na vozidlo.

Abstract:

The heterogeneity in the area of a welded joint is the substantial restriction when construction units are proportioned. During test loading, unequal distribution of plasticity occurs already in the phase of the microplastic deformation, which significantly influences obtained data of the static and the dynamic strength of a material, and makes it impossible to "solely" register values of the critical zone. On top of that, normalised test procedures do not reflect strength values under the uniaxial loading. This is the reason for suggesting a methodology which uses a simulated heat loading applied to a flat sample with the aim of inducing necessary test length of the homogenous structure that relates to the zone of the heat affected zone. The solved procedure suggested a testing methodology for a testing sample preparation, complementing standardized testing procedures. The summary of the suggested methodologies enables an examination of the critical zone values of the physical weld with a possible prediction of the static and dynamic strength of the uniaxial strain in the area of the deformation speeds which are working during the impact to a vehicle.
