Many experiments not only using X-ray diffraction require the measured objects to be kept at constant temperature during the experiment, since otherwise it would lead to changes of structural parametres. At diffraction experiments, this would lead to shift of diffraction peaks, and that might cause to a degradation of the results of the experiment due to a movement of diffraction maxima. Mnohé pokusy nielen s difrakciou röntgenového žiarenia vyžadujú, aby merané vzorky boli počas experimentu udržiavané na konštantnej teplote, pretože inak by došlo k štruktúrnym zmenám. Pri difrakčných experimentoch by to viedlo k zmene mriežkového parametra, čo by mohlo viesť k znehodnoteniu výsledkov pokusu zmenou difrakčných maxím.
