Language specifics of electronic communication of informal character

Abstract:

Cílem této práce analýza a hodnocení některých specifických jazykových prostředků psané elektronické komunikace na internetu a pomocí mobilního telefonu. Konkrétně byly z internetové komunikace analyzovány chatové diskuze, neformální e-maily, texty ICQ komunikace, statusy a komentáře na Facebooku a z mobilní komunikace SMS. Práce se zaměřuje na podobu mluvených prvků v psaném textu (hovorová slova, ztvárnění paralingvistických znaků řeči apod.), na jazykové chyby, moţnosti zkracování textu a další specifika jednotlivých komunikačních prostředí. Analýza je seřazena podle jednotlivých oblastí, které byly zkoumány ve všech textech, některé stejné pro všechny druhy komunikace, jiné specifické pro konkrétní komunikační prostředí.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was analysis and evaluation of some specific language phenomena/means of the electronic communication on the Internet and via mobile phones. Actually the analysed texts were represented by chat discussions, informal e-mails, ICQ, statuses and commentaries on Facebook as for the electronic communication, and SMS messages out of the mobile communication. The thesis concentrates on the forms of elements of spoken language in written texts (colloquial words, substitution of paralinguistic signs etc.), on the language mistakes, possibilities of shortening the text and other specifics of individual communication environments. The analysis is put in order according to the individual areas examined in all the texts, some of the common for all the types of communication, the others specific for selected environment.
