Food composition of groundhoper Tetrix bipunctata based on crop content analyses

Abstract:

V této práci jsou shromážděny publikované informace týkající se biologie zástupců čeledi Tetrigidae (Orthoptera) vyskytujících se na území České republiky, s důrazem na biologii a ekologii marše suchobytné (Tetrix bipunctata (Linnaeus, 1758)). Provedena byla pilotní analýza obsahu trávicího traktu druhu Tetrix bipunctata, přičemž bylo porovnáno zastoupení detritu a mechu v trávenině. Zkoumány byly rozdíly v množství a složení přijaté potravy v závislosti na pohlaví a lokalitě a také druhové zastoupení mechů v preparátech. Celkem bylo k analýze trávicího traktu použito 44 jedinců ze třech lokalit. Z toho se jednalo o 22 samců a 22 samic. Ze všech 44 vzorků byly vytvořeny trvalé mikroskopické preparáty, na základě kterých bylo metodami analýzy obrazu zaznamenáno kvalitativní a kvantitativní složení potravy. Složení potravy bylo u všech jedinců obdobné. Dominantní složku tvořil detrit (79,5 ? 1,94 %), dále pak mechy (16,7 ? 3,88 %) a v minimální míře (3,8 ? 2,71 %) se vyskytovaly i neidentifikované fragmenty (např. pletiva rostlin nebo řasy). V osmi preparátech nebyl mech vůbec zaznamenán. Samice přijímaly více potravy než samci.

Abstract:

This thesis summarises published information about biology of Tetrigidae (Orthoptera) species occurring on the territory of Czech Republic. Special attention was paid to biology and ecology of Tetrix bipunctata (Linnaeus, 1758). A pilot analysis of the digestive tract contents of Tetrix bipunctata has been made, where the amount of detritus and moss in the chyme has been compared. The differences in the amount and composition of the diet had been studied in relation to gender and locality. Relative species composition of moss in the preparations had been also. In total 44 specimen from three localities were used for the analysis of the digestive tracts (22 females and 22 males). Permanent microscopic preparations were prepared from all the 44 samples, based on which the qualitative and quantitative composition of diet was detected by imagine analysis software. The quantitative composition of the food of all the specimens was similar. The dominant part was detritus (79,5 ? 1,94 %), followed by moss (16,7 ? 3,88 %), and the rest (3,8 ? 2,71 %) were unidentified fragments (e.g. plant tissues or algae) found. In 8 preparations no fragment of moss was detected. Females consumed higher quantity of food than males.
