Post-war history of Jewish inhabitants and their culture in the city of Tábor and its surrounding area.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Poválečné dějiny židovského obyvatelstva a jeho kultury na Táborsku“ se zabývá osudy Židů na přibližné rozloze táborského okresu. Cílem je souhrnně informovat o životě Židů na Táborsku po skončení druhé světové války s přihlédnutím k předchozím dějinám židovského obyvatelstva v Čechách. Cílem práce není detailní historické pojednání o každé z obcí v regionu, v tomto rozsahu to ostatně ani není možné. Hlavním cílem bylo soustředit rámcově informace o celém regionu po roce 1945, protože tato doba stála doposud spíše stranou zájmu veřejnosti i badatelů a zjistit, zda vůbec existuje dostatek materiálů a informací k historické rekonstrukci předešlých 68 let. V první části bakalářské práce se zabýváme otázkou územního definování samotného regionu Táborska. Jeho určení je provedeno komparativní metodou a využitím metody dotazníkového šetření. Druhá část práce je zaměřena na obecné dějiny židovského obyvatelstva v Čechách s přihlédnutím k situaci v určeném regionu, pokud to dostupné materiály dovolují. Třetí část se zabývá poválečnými dějinami židovského osídlení na Táborsku. Významnou měrou byla použita metoda oral history, která, vzhledem k absenci dostatečné pramenné základny, nachází v této části nepochybně své opodstatnění. Jako příloha práce jsou uvedeny fotografické dokumenty a dále mapové podklady týkající se Táborska.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis „Post-war history of Jewish inhabitants and their culture in the city of Tábor and its surrounding area. “ deals with life story of Jews in approximate area of Tábor county. The aim is to inform in sum about life of Jews in Tábor and its surrounding area after the end of the World War II considering previous history of Jewish inhabitants in Bohemia. The aim of the thesis isn’t detailed historical treatise about every single village in the region, for that matter in this extent it isn’t possible. The main aim was to focus on general information about the whole region after year 1945, because this period rather stands aside the interest of general public and research workers and to find if there exist enough materials and information for historical reconstruction of previous 68 years. In the first part of the bachelor's thesis we look into a question of territorial definition of the region Táborsko as itself. It was defined by using comparative method and questionnaire survey method. The second part is focused on the general history of Jewish inhabitants in Bohemia considering the situation in given region if it’s possible due to materials. The third part deals with post-war history of Jewish settlement in Táborsko. Significant part of the research was method of oral history which, due to absence of sufficient source base, finds justification in this part without a doubt. As attachment there are photographic documents and map materials related to Táborsko.
