Perception of fair play in older school-age athletes in team and individual sports in Liberec region

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je pomocí dotazníkového šetření objasnit vnímání fair play mezi sportovci staršího školního věku provádějícími individuální či kolektivní sporty, a to v Libereckém kraji. Teoretická část práce se zabývá historií, významem a principy fair play, dále také dokumenty a institucemi, jež jsou s touto oblastí úzce spjaty. V práci je věnována pozornost i negativním aspektům fair play, jako je např. doping nebo korupce. V praktické části této diplomové práce je charakterizováno dotazníkové šetření, jehož se zúčastnilo celkem 100 respondentů, kteří byli rozděleni do dvou stejně početných skupin dle sportů, kterým se věnují. Výsledky našeho výzkumu prokázaly, že typ sportu má vliv na vnímání fair play u sportovců staršího školního věku provádějících kolektivní nebo individuální sporty v Libereckém kraji. Ve vnímání fair play byly mezi těmito dvěma skupinami prokázány statistické rozdíly. U dětí zaměřených na individuální sporty jsme prokázali lepší předpoklady k dodržování principů fair play, než u dětí provádějících sporty kolektivní.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to clarify the perception of fair play among athletes of older school age performing individual or team sports in the Liberec region, using a survey. The theoretical part of diploma thesis deals with the history, meaning and principles of fair play, as well as documents and institutions that are closely related to this area. Attention is also payed here to negative aspects of fair play, such as doping or corruption. In the practical part of this diploma thesis a survey is characterized, in which a total of 100 respondents took part, who were divided into two equally numerous groups according to the sports they practice. The results of our research proved, that the type of sport has an influence on the perception of fair play among athletes of older school age performing team or individual sports in Liberec region. Statistical differences were demonstrated between the two groups in the perception of fair play. We have demonstrated better assumptions for compliance with the principles of fair play in children focused on individual sports, than in children playing team sports.
