The Attitude of Sports Gymnasium School Students towards the Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract:

Téma rigorózní práce je Postoj žáků sportovního gymnázia k pandemii Covid – 19. Cílem práce je analyzovat a porovnat úroveň tréninku a komplexní sportovní přípravy před pandemií Covid – 19 a v průběhu pandemie Covid – 19 u žáků sportovního gymnázia. Vzhledem k aktuálnosti problému a operativnímu zjišťování výstupů a dat u souboru respondentů byla použita kvantitativní metoda dotazníkového šetření. Výsledkem práce je zjištění, že pandemie Covid – 19 v průběhu období let 2019 – 2021 a s ní související protiepidemická restriktivní opatření u žáků sportovního gymnázia způsobila závažné redukce objemu sportovní přípravy ve snížení počtu tréninkových jednotek. Dále došlo na základě zjištění k výraznému snížení počtu soutěží u žáků. Některým žákům v jejich sportovní specializaci byly soutěže zrušeny úplně a byly nahrazeny improvizovanými pohybovými testy nebo „online“ soutěžemi. U žáků docházelo především ke ztrátě motivace, řada respondentů uvažovala o změně sportovní specializace nebo dokonce o ukončení sportovní činnosti. Přínosem práce je zjištění, že dlouhé období „lockdownu“ u žáků způsobilo výrazné snížení sportovní motivace, snížení trénovanosti, snížení počtu závodů u talentovaných sportovců v nejdůležitější mládežnické kategorii. Přínos pro vedení školy jsou doporučení trenérům a školnímu psychologovi k posílení aktuální sportovní motivace u žáků. Aplikace nových stylů v individuální přípravě žáků. Jednání se zřizovatelem školy a s MŠMT ve věci sportovní přípravy žáků v mimořádných situacích.

Abstract:

The topic of the rigorous thesis is The Attitude of Sports Gymnasium School Students towards the Covid-19 Pandemic. The aim of the thesis is to analyse and compare the level of training and comprehensive sport preparation before the Covid-19 pandemic and during the Covid-19 pandemic in sports gymnasium school students. Due to the topicality of the problem and the operative determination of outcomes and data in a set of respondents, the quantitative method of questionnaire survey was used. As a result of the thesis, it was found that the Covid-19 pandemic during 2019 - 2021 period and the related anti-epidemic restrictive measures caused a serious reduction in the amount of sport training in a decrease in the number of training units in sports gymnasium school students. Furthermore, a significant reduction in the number of student competitions was found out. For some students, competitions were cancelled altogether in their sport specializations and replaced by improvised movement tests or 'online' competitions. In particular, students experienced a loss of motivation with many respondents considering a change in their sport specialization or even termination of their sport activities. The contribution of the thesis is the finding that a long period of 'lockdown' caused a significant decrease in sport motivation of students, a decrease in training level and a decrease in the number of competitions for talented athletes in the most important youth category. The contributions to the school management are the recommendations for coaches and a school psychologist to strengthen the current sport motivation of students, the application of new styles in an individual preparation of students and the negotiations with the statutory authority and with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports regarding the sport preparation of students in extraordinary situations.
