Mersey Sound in the Context of the Czechoslovak Musical Scene during 1960s

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem „Mersey sound v kontextu československé hudební scény 60. let 20. století“ se zaměřuje na uvedení tohoto hudebního stylu do spojitosti s děním na československé hudební scéně v šedesátých letech dvacátého století. Práce je rozdělena na tři hlavní kapitoly. První kapitola popisuje vznik a vývoj Mersey soundu. Druhá kapitola pojednává o jeho šíření ve středoevropských státech východního bloku. Třetí část je zaměřena na Mersey sound v Československu, kde popisuje jeho vývoj v rámci republiky, i v interakci se sousedními zeměmi.

Abstract:

This thesis entitled "Mersey Sound in the Context of the Czechoslovak Musical Scene during 1960s" deals with the connection of this music style with the czechoslovak music life and affairs during 1960s. The thesis is devided into three parts. The first part is dedicated to the origin and development of Mersey sound. The aim of the second part is to describe its spread in the countries of Central Europe, formerly beiing the part of the so-called Eastern Bloc. The third part is focused on Mersey sound in Czechoslovakia and refers to its development not only within the territory of the country but also in interaction with the neighbouring countries.
