Gustave Moreau and French literature
Abstract:
In our thesis, we try to prove that Gustave Moreau, French symbolist painter, has influenced the work of three writers: Joris-Karl Huysmans, Oscar Wilde and José-Maria de Heredia. We analyse selected parts of their works: Against Nature, Salome, The Trophies in order to determine in which way these artists took inspiration in Moreau’s paintings.
Abstract:
V naší práci se snažíme ukázat, že francouzský symbolistní malíř, Gustave Moreau, ovlivnil práci tří literátů: Joriho-Karla Huysmanse, Oscara Wilda a Josého-Marii de Heredii. Analyzujeme vybrané části jejich děl: Naruby, Salome, Trofeje, abychom určili, jakým způsobem se tito umělci inspirovali Moreauovými malbami.
