The Alienation and Uprooting as the Theme of modern Literature on the exemple of the Novel The second Paradise by Hilde Domin

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the topic of alienation in the novel The Second Paradise written by a German novelist Hilde Domin. The theoretical part focuses on the topic of migration and especially on psychological problems of migrants. Such problems involve feelings of alienation and feelings of being uprooted. These feelings are further introduced in the thesis. The practical part consists of a literary analysis of the above novel. The analysis uses secondary literature sources and quotations from the novel in order to introduce several forms of feelings of alienation and feelings of being uprooted that were captured by the author.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou pocitů odcizení a vykořenění v románu Druhý ráj německé spisovatelky Hildy Domin. Teoretická část je zaměřena na problematiku migrace a s ní spojených psychických problémů migrantů, ke kterým patří také prožívání pocitu odcizení a vykořenění, jež jsou v práci následně blíže představeny. Praktickou část práce tvoří literární analýza výše jmenovaného díla, která za pomoci sekundární literatury a vlastních citací z románu představuje několik forem pocitu odcizení a vykořenění, které jsou v románu zachyceny.
