The Comparison of Gender Role Among Women Serving in the Army of the Czech Republic, in the Police of the Czech Republic and Women from the Civilian Population

Abstract:

Práce je zaměřena na genderovou roli žen, a to konkrétně příslušnic Armády České republiky (AČR), Policie České republiky (PČR) a žen běžné populace - civilistek. Teoretická část definuje stěžejní pojmy genderové problematiky, představuje historické a soudobé hledisko postavení žen u AČR, rovněž jako žen u PČR, a stěžejní pozornost je věnována zahraničním výzkumům z oblasti genderu v rámci obou bezpečnostních složek. Výzkumná část je zaměřena na zjištění a porovnání zastoupení jednotlivých genderových rolí dle S. Bémové, jejíž dotazník BSRI byl užit ke zjištění genderové role. Výsledná zjištění prokázala signifikantní rozdíly v zastoupení genderových rolí mezi příslušnicemi AČR, PČR a civilními ženami.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the gender role of women, concretely among women in force of the Army of the Czech Republic (ACR), women in force of the Police of the Czech Republic (PCR) and among women of common population - civilians. The thesis is devided both into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part defines the key concepts of gender issues, represents the historical and current perspective of the women's position in the military, as well as in the police forces. The main focus is on foreign gender researches within both security forces. The empirical part is focused on finding and comparison of the representation of gender roles according to Bem's clasiffication. For this purpose BSRI questionnaire was used. The research results showed significant differences in representation of gender roles among women in force of ACR, PCR and civilians.
