Analysis of education of pupils with mental disabilities focusing

Abstract:

Rigorózní práce zaměřená na aplikaci alternativních metod pro podporu dětí s mentálním postižením, se skládá ze dvou částí. První, teoretická, předkládá tři kapitoly popisující na základě analýzy dostupné odborné literatury, terminologická východiska pro druhou část rigorózní práce – výzkumný projekt. V rámci teoretických kapitol práce popisuje speciální pedagogiku, pedagogický výzkum, mentální retardaci, legislativu, poradenství, specifika vývoje, osobnosti a rodinné péče o dítě s Downovým syndromem a vybrané alternativní metody. Empirická část rigorózní práce předkládá ve dvou výzkumných kapitolách data získaná dotazníkovým šetřením v základních školách a rodinách dětí s Downovým syndromem. První výzkumná kapitola popisuje metodologii, stanovuje výzkumné cíle, hypotézy a teze. Druhá výzkumná kapitola shrnuje výsledky sběru dat, stanovuje závěry a nabízí doporučení ke speciálně pedagogické praxi. Rigorózní práce je doplněna seznam literatury, která se váže k tématu práce.

Abstract:

Rigorous work is focused on the application of alternative methods to support children with learning disabilities. It is devided to two parts. The first is theoretical and the second empirical. In the theoretical chapter are described the special education and educational research. Chapter also includes discription of mental retardation, specifics of development personality and family care for a child with Down syndrome focused on selected alternative methods. Aslo discusses a legislation and advicory service in the context of children with Down syndrome. The empirical part of the thesis presents two chapters of Research. The first empirical chapter describes the research methodology, provides research objectives, hypotheses and theses. A quantitative part of Research was using a questionnaire for Teachers on primary school and questionnaire for parents of children with Down syndrome. The second empirical chapter summarizes the research results of data collection, provides conclusions and offers recommendations for special education practice. Rigorous work is supplemented by a list of literature that relates to the topic of the thesis.
