Abstract:

The thesis is a record of experimental voluntary isolation, which I carried out as part of my bachelor's thesis. Isolation aimed to explore the experience of loneliness and isolation, and their direct influence on the creation of the artwork I created during this period. The thesis describes the state and reactions of my mind to solitude (from mental stability and motivation to anxiety, fear and creative blocks). I reflect on how the experiment with isolation allowed me to delve deeper into the creative process, draw inspiration from dreams and use the experience of isolation for my work. The thesis also speaks about how voluntary isolation can be a powerful tool for artists seeking to explore the inner workings of their minds and emotions. This thesis aims to contribute to a wider discussion about the meaning of solitude in artistic practice and offers arguments for the transformative potential of voluntary isolation.

Abstract:

Práca je záznam o experimentálnej dobrovoľnej izolácii, ktorú som uskutočnila v rámci svojej bakalárskej práce. Izolácia mala za cieľ preskúmať zážitok osamotenia a izolácie, a ich priamy vplyv na tvorbu výtvarného diela, ktoré som realizovala počas tohto obdobia. Práca opisuje stav a reakcie mojej mysle na samotu (od duševnej stability a motivácie až po úzkosť, strach a tvorivé bloky). Zamýšľam sa nad tým, ako mi experiment s izoláciou umožnil hlbšie sa ponoriť do tvorivého procesu, čerpať inšpiráciu zo snov a využiť skúsenosti z izolácie pre svoje dielo. Práca tiež hovorí o tom, ako môže byť dobrovoľná izolácia silným nástrojom pre umelcov, ktorí sa snažia preskúmať vnútorné fungovanie svojej mysle a emócií. Táto práca má ambíciu prispieť k širšej diskusii o význame osamotenia v umeleckej praxi a ponúka argumenty pre transformačný potenciál dobrovoľnej izolácie.
