The cultural radio shows "chroniques": in search of the linguistic attributes of the genre by way of the example of the "chronique" Pop & Co

Abstract:

The dissertation studies a relatively new radio genre of the French radio emissions, so-called chronicles („chroniques“), the presentation of which is realized mainly by reading the texts which are written beforehand. However, the definition of the chronicle as a radio genre is often missing in French dictionaries under the entry „chronique“. The principal goal of this dissertation is thus to find and capture the traits characteristic of the genre and to create its generally valid linguistic definition. To reach this goal, individual textual and linguistic analyses of the radio programme Pop & Co from the radio station France Inter are elaborated with the support of various domains of linguistics (corpus linguistics included) and with a strong interest in the differences between spoken and written language. As their outcome, they should define the features typical not only for this specific radio programme but also for the genre of chronicles in general.

Abstract:

Disertační práce se zabývá studiem relativně nového radiofonního žánru francouzských radiových vysílání, tzv. kronik („chroniques“), jejichž prezentace probíhá hlavně prostřednictvím četby dopředu připraveného textu. Nicméně, definice kronik jakožto žánru se jeví jako problematická a stále schází ve většině slovníků francouzského jazyka. Hlavním cílem této práce je tak na pozadí teoretických poznatků z oblasti jazykových věd (včetně korpusové lingvistiky) a se zájmem zaměřeným na rozdíly mezi mluveným a psaným jazykem postihnout charakteristiky žánru radiových kronik a vytvořit jeho obecně platnou lingvistickou definici. K dosažení cíle jsou zpracovány jednotlivé textové a jazykové analýzy vybraného radiového programu Pop & Co ze stanice France Inter, které mají za úkol vytyčit jevy typické jednak pro tento konkrétní radiový program, ale současně také pro žánr kronik jako takový.
