The main changes in the regulation of banks under the influence of the financial crisis

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the identification of major changes in the regulation of banks under the influence of financial crisis. Analyzes the impact of financial crisis on the banking sector and provides insight into various regulatory measures, that have been introduced for the recovery of the banks in case of problems. The first chapter deals with the financial crisis and its impact on the banking sector. It characterizes its emergence, development and impact on the financial sector in the world and its impact on the Slovak banking system. The second chapter deals with the regulations of banking systems in the United States and Europe under the influence of the crisis. Analyzes measures, guidelines and various laws enacted to regulate the banking sector. The third chapter of the thesis approaches adopted measures and guidelines associated with The Bank Union, The Council Resolution and The Unified Resolution Mechanism. Evaluates the major changes in bank regulation adopted under the influence of the financial crisis. It provides an overview of the measures taken and legislative changes in the field of banking regulation. The aim of the thesis is to identify the major changes in the regulation of banks under the influence of financial crisis.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca je zameraná na identifikáciu hlavných zmien v oblasti regulácie bánk pod vplyvom finančnej krízy. Analyzuje dopady finančnej krízy na bankový sektor a prináša pohľad na jednotlivé regulačné opatrenia, ktoré boli zavedené na ozdravenie bánk v prípade výskytu problémov. Prvá kapitola sa venuje priebehu finančnej krízy a jej dopadu na bankový sektor. Charakterizuje jej vznik, priebeh a dopad na finančný sektor vo svete a jej vplyv na slovenský bankový systém. Druhá kapitola sa zaoberá reguláciou bankového systému v Spojených štátoch a v Európe v dôsledku krízy. Analyzuje opatrenia, smernice a jednotlivé zákony prijaté na reguláciu bankového sektora. Tretia kapitola približuje prijaté opatrenia a smernice spojené so vznikom Bankovej únie, Rady pre riešenie krízových situácií a Jednotného rezolučného mechanizmu. Hodnotí hlavné zmeny v regulácii bánk, ktoré boli prijaté pod vplyvom finančnej krízy. Prináša prehľad o prijatých opatreniach a legislatívnych zmenách v oblasti bankovej regulácie. Cieľom diplomovej práce je identifikovanie hlavných zmien v regulácii bánk pod vplyvom finančnej krízy.
