Process analysis of bank institution

Abstract:

The aim of the master thesis is to provide an analysis of the current situation in the payment cards market. The focus is given to contactless technology and to carry out process analysis of the just mentioned issues. The theoretical part presents the basic division of payment cards and describes the history of the early indications of their origin. Attention is paid to the process management, which is an important part of the practical part. Other chapters deal primarily with the contactless cards, how they are specifically used and important facts about their security. Thesis also describes processing payment card transactions on the Internet and presents a new mobile application MasterCard Mobile. At the beginning of the practical part, there is analysis and design of selected processes related to operations with payment cards. Due to modeled activities are designed indicators, which could be beneficial in case of their monitoring. Finally, the thesis is devoted to the simulation of selected processes with payment cards, with a view to demonstrate the benefits of using contactless technology for payments at the terminal.

Abstract:

Cieľom diplomovej práce je uskutočniť rozbor aktuálnej situácie na trhu platobných kariet, so zameraním sa na bezkontaktnú technológiu a previesť procesnú analýzu týkajúcu sa práve spomínanej problematiky. Teoretická časť približuje základné delenie platobných kariet a popisuje históriu od prvých náznakov ich vzniku. Pozornosť je venovaná aj procesnému prístupu k riadeniu, ktorý je dôležitou súčasťou praktickej časti práce. Ďalšie kapitoly sa zaoberajú primárne bezkontaktnými platobnými kartami, definovaním spôsobov ich používania a v neposlednom rade ich bezpečnosťou. Okrem spomenutého popisuje práca aj prevádzanie transakcií platobnou kartou na internete a približuje novú mobilnú aplikáciu MasterCard Mobile. V úvode praktickej časti sa nachádza samotná analýza a návrh vybraných procesov týkajúcich sa úkonov s platobnými kartami. Pre namodelované činnosti sú navrhnuté ukazovatele, ktoré by mohli byť prínosné v prípade ich monitorovania. Záver diplomovej práce je venovaný simulácii vybraných procesov s platobnou kartou, so zámerom dokázať výhody používania bezkontaktnej technológie pri platení na termináli.
