Fracturation of selected rocks in the Central Moldanubian Pluton

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá studiem puklin v oblasti centrálního moldanubického masivu, jejíž cílem bylo zpracovat křehké porušení hornin. Orientovaná data byla zpracována programem StaTeck a data směru šíření pukliny programem Spheristat. Na lokalitě lomu Boršov bylo zjištěno několik puklinových systémů – s hlavními subhorizontálními puklinami a dalšími systémy puklin ve směru SSZ-JJV se strmým úklonem k východu, V-Z, SV-JZ a SSV-JJZ. Směry šíření pukliny jsem rozdělil do čtyř kategorií, z nichž byla hlavní orientace vyhodnocena dvěma směry, a to k severu mírně nahoru a k jihu mírně dolů, tj. od svislice 75,2°± 17,1°, tedy 255,2°± 17,1°. Bylo zjištěno, že se pukliny nešířily pouze jedním, ale oběma směry rovnocenně, resp. náhodně. To indikuje možnost podobného charakteru vzniku jako u příčných pásů na puklinách sloupcovité odlučnosti. Pukliny se mohly šířit skokově tak, že k již existujícímu pásu dorůstaly z určité strany pásy nové. Vzhledem k omezeným rozměrům lomu jsem však nemohl otázku, zdali pásy přirůstaly shora dolů či zespoda nahoru, vyřešit.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on the study of joints in Central Moldanubian Pluton. The main aim was to process brittle fracturing of rocks. Orientation data were processed in StaTeck software and data of joints propagation were processed in Spheristat software. At the Boršov quarry, there are several joint types—with the main sub-horizontal joints and other types in NNW-SSE to the east, E-W, NE-SW and NNE-SSW strikes. It was determined four types of joint propagation directions. The main directions of propagation were in northward slightly up and/or southward slightly down 75,2°± 17,1°, therefore 255,2°± 17,1°. It was found that the joints did not grow only in one direction, but in both directions equally, respectively randomly. This indicates the possibility of a similar pattern of origin as transversal strips are originated on joints of the columnar structures. The joints could propagate in steps, when new belts were accreted at a certain side to the existing belt. I could not solve the question whether they were added above or below the older belt due to limited size of the quarry.
