The Archival Science and Contemporary Structure of the Archives in the Free State of Bavaria

Anotácia:

Magisterská diplomová práce s názvem „Archivnictví a současná struktura archivů ve Svobodném státě Bavorsko“ přibližuje archivní prostředí v německé spolkové zemi Bavorsko a popisuje současnou strukturu archivů v kontextu evropských dějin. Významná část práce je věnována jednotlivým státním archivům a jejich řídicímu orgánu – Generálnímu ředitelství bavorských státních archivů. Práce přináší též základní informace o platné archivní legislativě a archivnímu vzdělávání v Bavorsku, konkrétně pojednává o Bavorské archivní škole. Zmíněna je stěžejní publikační činnost a některé významné osobnosti bavorského archivnictví. V neposlední řadě umožní reálně nahlédnout do této problematiky prostřednictvím dotazníku s reakcemi bavorských odborníků z dané oblasti.

Abstract:

The Master's thesis entitled "The Archival Science and Contemporary Structure of the Archives in the Free State of Bavaria" deals with archival environment in the German state of Bavaria and the current structure of the archives in the context of European history. A significant part is devoted to various state archives and their governing body – the General Directorate of the Bavarian state archives. The work also provides basic information on current legislation and archival education in Bavaria, specifically on the Bavarian archive school. Key publications with some prominent personalities of Bavarian archival science are mentioned. Last but not least, the work enables us to look into this issue through a questionnaire with the responses of experts from the Bavarian region.
