The phenomenon of anxiety in psychotherapeutic process

Abstract:

Práce pojednává o fenoménu úzkosti v rámci psychoterapeutického procesu. Je rozdělená na část teoretickou a část empirickou. V teoretické části jsem se zaměřila na rozbor konceptu úzkosti a jeho role v psychoterapii z hlediska různých psychologických a psychoterapeutických škol. Konkrétně se jedná o přístup hlubinný, gestaltistický a kognitivně-behaviorální. Pojednala jsem o tom, jak tyto směry nahlíží na úzkost, jak definují psychoterapeutický vztah a jaké postupy a techniky při své práci používají. Jádrem empirické části je kvalitativní studie n = 1 zaměřená na sledování psychoterapeutického procesu z hlediska prožitků úzkosti - jejich výskytu u klienta i terapeuta a proměňování úzkosti v procesu psychoterapie. Použita byla kvalitativní metodologie, při níž jsem se nechala volně inspirovat metodou zakotvené teorie. Cílem empirické části bylo najít odpověď na výzkumnou otázku, jak proměňující se úzkost tvaruje psychoterapeutický proces a jak ovlivňuje terapeutický vztah i postup, který terapeut volí. Mezi nejvýznamnější zjištění práce patří to, že existuje rozdíl v terapeutickém postupu i v terapeutickém vztahu v závislosti na tom, zda klientka o úzkosti pouze referuje nebo ji prožívá přímo na sezení.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with phenomenon of anxiety in the psychotherapeutic process. It consists of theoretical part and empirical part. In the theoretical part author sets out to analyze the concept of anxiety and it`s role in psychotherapy in terms of different psychological and psychotherapeutic schools; to be specific, in terms of deep approach, gestalt approach and cognitive-behavioral. Author then explains how these schools think of the anxiety itself, how they define psychotherapeutic relationship and which processes and techniques they use at their work. Core of the empirical part presents qualitative study n = 1, which is focused on observation of psychotherapeutic process in terms of experiences of anxiety; their appearances by the clients and therapist and change of anxiety in process of psychotherapy. Author used qualitative methodology slightly inspired by grounded theory The purpose of the empirical part was to find answer to research question, how the changing anxiety is shaping psychotherapeutic process and how influences psychotherapeutic relationship and procedure, which therapist chooses. Among the most important findings of this thesis belongs conclusion, that there exists difference in the therapeutic procedure and relationship that depends on the fact if client just refers to anxiety or is experiencing it right in therapeutic sitting.
