Abstract:

Cílem disertační práce Motivy smrti ve staropolském dialogu Rozmowa mistrza Polikarpa ze Śmiercią a husitském Rozmlouvání člověka se Smrtí je shrnout poznatky dosavadního bádání staropolského a husitského dialogu člověka s personifikovanou postavou Smrti a na základě provedené interpretace zkoumaných textů vzájemně porovnat vybrané společné aspekty (zobrazení vystupujících postav a eschatologických motivů, obraz dobové společnosti). Cílem práce je poukázat na rozdílné pojetí tradiční látky, jež vychází z odlišného historicko-sociálního kontextu, dále ve staročeském Rozmlouvání určit ohlasy husitského myšlení, jež se zrcadlí v kritice dobové církevní praxe a společnosti. Přínos práce pak spočívá právě v komparaci obou dialogů, která kromě dvou studií stála mimo centrum badatelského zájmu.

Abstract:

The aim of the dissertation The Motifs of Death in the Polish Medieval Dialogue Rozmowa mistrza Polikarpa ze Śmiercią and the Czech Dialogue Rozmlouvání člověka se Smrtí is to summarize the findings of the research up to now into the two dialogues of a human with a personified Death, interpret the two texts and compare selected aspects (the representation of the characters, eschatological motifs and the representation of the contemporary society). The dissertation aims to identify and explain the different concepts of the traditional subject by examining the two different sociocultural contexts. In Rozmlouvání člověka se Smrtí, it also aims to inspect the echoes of Hussite thinking in the criticism of contemporary ecclesiastical practices and contemporary society. The added value of the dissertation lies in the comparison of the two dialogues which has, with the exception of two studies, been neglected by researchers.
