Abstract:

Bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá proměnami ilustrací knihy Broučci Jana Karafiáta od prvního ilustrovaného vydání v roce 1902 až do současnosti. Do tvorby asi čtyř desítek umělců, kteří Karafiátovu knihu výtvarně zpracovali, se promítl nejen jejich jedinečný umělecký styl, ale i dobové tendence v ilustraci dětské knihy v českém prostředí. Proměny ilustrací Broučků jsou sledovány na příkladu tvorby čtyř vybraných umělců napříč více než stoletou historií knihy, která byla vydána již více než stokrát. Součástí práce je také soupis všech ilustrovaných vydání včetně ukázek ilustrací.

Abstract:

This thesis examines transformation of illustrations of Jan Karafiat’s book Broučci since its first illustrated edition, published in 1902. Almost forty artists contributed to Karafiat’s book with their illustrations throughout the book’s existence. These illustrations show not only unique styles of the illustrators but also contemporary tendencies in children’s books illustration in Czech environment. Changes in illustrations of Broučci are examined through the examples of works of four illustrators throughout the more than hundred year long history of the book, during which more than a hundred editions of the book were published. A list of all the illustrated publications of Broučci is included together with examples of the illustrations.
