Motion analysis (in classical dance) from anthropological perspective

Abstract:

Komplexní popis pohybové činnosti poskytuje hlubší znalosti biomechaniky provedení daného prvku. Tyto znalosti umožňují efektivnější výuku začátečníků, usnadňují dosažení profesionální úrovně a napomáhají předcházet zraněním. Klasický tanec, který je hlavním výrazovým prostředkem soudobého baletu, je složený z přesně vypracovaného systému pohybů. Jednotlivé prvky musí splňovat estetická kritéria a zákonitosti této taneční techniky. Cílem této práce bylo pomocí 3D kinematické analýzy a povrchové elektromyografie srovnání rozdílů v provedení piruety en dehors profesionální tanečnicí, amatérskými tanečnicemi a netanečnicí a zjištění intenzity a časového zapojení vybraných svalů trupu těla a dolních končetin u profesionální tanečnice v průběhu provedení prvku. Výsledky ukazují, že profesionální tanečnice dodržuje teoretické principy provedení prvku popsané v literatuře o klasickém tanci. Nácvik těchto biomechanických principů, především udržení rotace en bloc, by amatérským tanečnicím umožnil větší kontrolu pohybu během rotace a usnadnil provedení vícenásobných rotací.

Abstract:

Complex description of a movement action provides deeper knowledge of biomechanics of performance of the given element. This knowledge allows more effective teaching of beginners, facilitates achieving professional level and helps to prevent injuries. Classical dancing, which is the main vehicle of expression of contemporary ballet, composes of strictly elaborated set of moves. Individual elements must fulfil aesthetic criteria and rules of this dance technique. The goal of this work was a comparison of differences in performance of a pirouette en dehors performed by a professional dancer, amateur dancers and a non-dancer and a determination of intensity and time engagement of selected body and leg muscles during the performance of the element by a professional dancer. This was done using 3D kinematic analysis and surface electromyography. The results show that professional dancer follows theoretical principles of element performance, which are described in literature dealing with classical dancing. Practice of these bio-mechanical principles, especially holding the en bloc rotation, would allow the amateur dancers bigger movement control during the rotation and it would make the performance of multiple rotations easier.
