Abstract:

Diplomová práce „CouchSurfing – přes hranice kultur“ pojednává o historii poutnictví a české turistiky, současných trendech v turistice a rozvoji alternativních forem cestování, seznamuje s teoriemi cestovatelské motivace a věnuje pozornost především novodobému fenoménu v cestování a poznávání cizích zemí, kultur a místních lidí. CouchSurfing je projekt, který cestovatelům po zaregistrování na webových stránkách a vyplnění osobního profilu nabízí možnost kontaktovat jiné členy projektu kdekoliv na světě a domluvit si s nimi setkání i nocleh u nich doma, to vše zdarma. Hlavní myšlenkou projektu je spojovat cestovatele a umožnit jim prožít autentickou zkušenost z cest a poznávání místního života, to vše prostřednictvím přátelského přijetí místními lidmi. Stěžejní částí diplomové práce je kvalitativní výzkum formou etnografické studie. Cílem výzkumné části je odhalit motivace současných couchsurferů pro registraci v projektu a zjistit jejich názor na základní myšlenku CouchSurfingu „vytvářet globální komunitu“. Dále si klade za cíl podat kompletní informace o této možnosti cestování a potkávání lidí, popsat vztahy, které uvnitř komunity mezi jejími členy vznikají, zjistit zkušenosti českých couchsurferů a možnosti kulturní a sociální výměny a sdílení. A v neposlední řadě se zaměřuje na osobnost couchsurfera, na jeho charakteristické vlastnosti a na to, jak jednotliví členové vnímají své členství v rámci komunity.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „CouchSurfing – across cultures“ deals with history of pilgrimage and czech tourism, current trends in tourism and development of alternative forms of travel, introduces theories of travel motivation and pays attention mainly to phenomenon in modern traveling and meeting foreign countries, cultures and local people. CouchSurfing is the project which offers travelers after registration on the website and completion of the personal profile the possibility to contact other project members around the world and to arrange meeting and also overnight in their house, all free. The main project idea is to connect travelers and enable them to have authentic experience of the journey and cognition of local life through the friendly welcome by local people. The crucial part of diploma thesis is qualitative research through ethnographic study. The target of research is to expose the motivation of current couchsurfers for their registration in the project and find out their view on the main idea of CouchSurfing “to create a global community”. Also aims to give complete information about this option to travel and meet people, describe the relationships which arise inside the community between its members, find out experiences of Czech couchsurfers and the possibilities of cultural and social exchange and sharing. And also focuses on the personality of couchsurfer, characteristics and how members perceive their membership in couchsurfers community.
