German politicians and their statements oriented on the Muslim women's headscarves are the basis of this thesis and by these statements is illustrated the perception of the Islam in this country. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá islámem v německém politickém diskurzu. Na příkladu výroků německých politiků k šátku okolo hlavy u muslimských žen je ilustrováno vnímání islámu v této zemi. Cílem této práce je zodpovědět otázku, jak se změnilo vnímání islámu mezi lety 1998 a 2015, kdy v Německu probíhala diskuze o tom, zda má být nošení tohoto šátku ženám ve státní správě povoleno či zakázáno.
