To the Possibilities of Romanetto in the Proses of Jakub Arbes and Karolina Světlá

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská diplomová práce se zaměřuje na možnosti žánrového označení prózy Karoliny Světlé Černá divizna (1887), která byla společně s dalšími čtyřmi autorčinými díly bezprostředně po její smrti zařazena do sebraných spisů pod názvem Romanetta z Ještěda I. a II. (1902). Teoretická část práce se zaměřuje na definici romaneta, na jeho žánrové podhoubí a autory, kteří jsou spojováni s jeho tvorbou. V práci jsou rovněž rozebrány základní rysy Arbesových romanet. Analytická část práce sestává z rozboru romaneta Jakuba Arbesa Sivooký démon (1873) a již zmíněné prózy Karoliny Světlé Černá divizna. Analýza obou děl je doplněna o jejich dobovou recepci. Dále následuje závěrečná syntéza ve vztahu k pojetí záhady a tajemna jakožto základních tematických prvků, k nimž autoři přistupují obdobně.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis focuses on the possibility of genre labelling of Karolina Světlá's prose Černá divizna (1887), which was included, together with four other Světlá's works, immediately after her death in the collected writings under the title Romanetta z Ještěda I and II (1902). The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the definition of the romanetto, its genre and the authors associated with its creation. The thesis also discusses the basic features of Arbes's romanettes. The analytical part of the thesis consists of an analysis of Jakub Arbes's prose Sivooký démon (1873) and Karolina Světlá's aforementioned prose Černá divizna. The discussed works are sup-plemented by their contemporary reception. Then follows a final synthesis of the concept of mystery and the mysterious, as the basic thematic elements, which the authors approach similarly.
