Utility of histotopogram in the diagnosis of prostate cancer

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá adenokarcinomem prostaty a jejím zpracováním pomocí histotopogramu. V teoretické části je popsána anatomie, histologie a funkce prostaty. Jsou zde zmíněny nejčastější patologické stavy, které tuto žlázu postihují. Dalé je zde obecně popsán rozvoj nádorových onemocnění, problematika adenokarcinomu prostaty a co je to histotoporam neboli velkoformátová histologie. Praktická část klade důraz na detailní popsání procesu zpracování prostaty v histologické laboratoři metodou histotopogramu, jejiho úskalí a zvládnutí této metody prakticky.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with prostate adenocarcinoma and with the tissue processing using whole-mount sections. The teoretical part describes anatomy, histology and function of prostate gland. The most common pathological conditions affecting this gland are mentioned here. In addition there is a general description of cancer development, issue of prostate adenocarcinoma and what does it mean whole-mount sections. The practical part takes a closer look at detailed description of prostate tissue processing in the histological laboratory by using whole-mount section, it is pitfalls and mastery this method practicaly.
