Protected Trees in Broumov Region

Abstract:

Tato práce pojednává o vztahu člověka ke stromům, o jeho vývoji a momentální podobě. V první části je popsán strom jako jeden z nejstarších symbolů, lidové zvyky, které se k zeleni a stromům vážou, a kultovní uctívání stromů na našem území od předkřesťanské doby (Keltové, Germáni, Slované) po současnost včetně moderních tradic jako jsou národní stromy nebo činnost okrašlovacích spolků. V druhé části, která členěním odkazuje na část první, jsou v pramenech (pověsti, dokumenty okrašlovacího spolku, aktuální seznam památných stromů) vyhledávány stromy na konkrétním území, kterým je CHKO Broumovsko. Empirický výzkum se zabývá problémy, se kterými se setkávají majitelé památných stromů a orgán ochrany přírody na zkoumaném území při vyhlašování stromů a následné péči o ně. V závěru práce jsou nabídnuty další návrhy, kterými by se mohl ubírat další výzkum této problematiky.

Abstract:

This thesis reflects upon the historical and contemporary relationship between humans and trees. In the first part there is a description of the tree as one of the oldest symbols, Czech folklore which is connected with trees and greenery and cultic worship of trees since the pre-Christian times (the Celts, Germans and Slavs) in Central Europe and the Czech Republic (including modern traditions like national trees etc). In the second part, there is a focus upon human-tree relationships of one area, Broumovsko PLA with the information coming from various sources (for e.g. legends, annals of the Decoration association, current list of protected trees). My research deals with problems that are faced by protected trees owners and an employee of the Broumovsko PLA office, who is responsible for protected trees. At the end of the thesis there are several suggestions of how the research of this topic could continue.
