The Impact of the Economic Crisis in 2008 on an Export-orientated Company in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce je analýza dopadů globální krize z r. 2008 na exportně orientovaný podnik sídlící v ČR. První, teoretická kapitola nabízí rozbor nejčastěji uváděných příčin, které vedly k propuknutí největšího poklesu světové ekonomiky od 30. let minulého století. Současně také připojuje pohled do bankovního sektoru ekonomiky USA ve zlomových letech 2007 a 2008 a stručně definuje dopady globální krize na trh ČR. Následující kapitoly, řadící se již do praktické části práce, charakterizují ekonomický vývoj pěti, pro sledovanou společnost, exportně prioritních zemí. Dále analyzují důsledky světové krize na hospodaření českého exportního podniku, zkoumají protikrizová opatření aplikovaná společností a vyhodnocují jejich úspěšnost. V závěrečné části je diplomová práce doplněna o návrhy, jak obchodní aktivity společnosti oživit, přiblížit především novým zákazníkům a napomoci tak dalšímu pozitivnímu vývoji výroby a prodeje.

Abstract:

The subject of the diploma thesis is an analysis of the impacts of the global economic crisis in 2008 on an export-orientated company in the Czech Republic. The first, theoretical chapter describes the most quoted causes that led to the biggest decrease of the global economy since 1930s. Moreover, there is a description of the American bank sector during the crucial years 2007 and 2008 and definition of the crisis' impacts on the Czech economy. Following chapters belonging to the practical part of the thesis analyze the economic development of 5 countries that the examined company considers as its priority export destinations. The impacts of the global economic crisis on the management of the Czech company are analyzed within the practical part of the thesis as well as the anti-crisis measures that the company has taken. These measures are evaluated in the final part of the thesis and there are several recommendations how to attract new customers and help with further positive development of production.
