Data Protection of the Oracle Database Server

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zpracovaná na téma ochrany dat Oracle databázového serveru a má poskytnout ucelený přehled o možnostech ochrany databázových dat, mapuje různé zálohovací režimy Oracle databází a používané technologie sloužící k zajištění vyšší bezpečnosti uložení dat. V první části popisuji typy databázových záloh, v druhé hardwarové zálohovací zařízení na trhu, ve třetí možné režimy záloh. Ve čtvrté představím další vhodné možnosti ochrany dat a v závěrečné části zhodnotím popsané možnosti zálohování. Tato práce si neklade za cíl popsat ochranu dat na databázové úrovni ve smyslu bezpečnostních politik. Cílem práce je nalezení vhodných variant zálohování, ať již v oblasti zálohovacích strategií, tak i v použití jednotlivých zálohovacích systémů.

Abstract:

The theme of the Bachelor Thesis is data protection of the Oracle database server and it provides a comprehensive outline of the possibilities of protecting database data, it maps various backup regimes of Oracle databases and the technologies in use ensuring higher security of data storing. The first part describes the types of database backups, the second deals with hardware backup devices available in the market, and the third shows the possible backup regimes. The fourth part presents other suitable options of data protection and the final part evaluates the described possibilities of backup. This Thesis does not aim to describe data protection at the database level within the meaning of security policies. The paper aims to find suitable variants of backup, both in terms of backup strategies and of using the particular backup systems.
