Comparison of the determinants of foreign direct investments (Example of Czech Republic and Ukraine)

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá přímými zahraničními investicemi a determinantami ovlivňujícími příliv PZI do dvou vybraných zemí (Ukrajiny a České republiky). Téma vychází z mezinárodního investování, cílem kterého je zhodnotit investiční prostředí České republiky a Ukrajiny. Práce popisuje faktory, které ovlivňují rozhodování zahraničních investorů a jaké kritéria podle nich jsou považovány za nejdůležitější při mezinárodním investování. V první části práce je popsaná teorie přímých zahraničních investic (definice, formy financování, finanční cyklus zahraniční investice, dopady na hostitelskou ekonomiku). Další část popisuje historický vývoj PZI za posledních jedenáct roků a bezprostředně vymezuje obecné faktory ovlivňující příliv PZI do dvou vybraných zemí.

Abstract:

This thesis describes Foreign Direct Investments and determines factors that affect the inflow of FDI in two selected countries (Ukraine and the Czech Republic). The theme is based on international investment, the goal of which is to assess the investment environment in the Czech Republic and Ukraine. This work describes the factors that influence on the decisions of foreign investors and presents the criteria which are considered to be the most important in international investing. The first part describes the theory of foreign direct investment (definition, forms of financing, financial cycle of foreign investment, and the impacts on the host economy). The next section presents the historical development of FDI in the last eleven years, and immediately sets the general factors affecting FDI inflows in two selected countries.
