Analysis of the curing process of thermosetting resin using Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy

Abstract:

Infračervená spektroskopie slouží k identifikaci, strukturní charakterizaci organických sloučenin a také stanovení anorganických látek. První část práce se zabývá základním popisem infračervené spektroskopie, a měřících technik infračervené spektroskopie s Fourierovou transformací, jako jsou například měření zeslabené totální reflektance (ATR), transmisní měření a modulovaná diferenční skenovací kalorimetrie. Ve druhé části práce jsou popsány základní druhy reaktoplastických pryskyřic a proces vytvrzování těchto pryskyřic pomocí tvrdidel. U procesu vytvrzování záleží na mnoha faktorech, jako například teplota při mísení tvrdidla s epoxidovou složkou, teplotní profil samotného vytvrzování či použité tvrdidlo, které ovlivňuje rychlost i teplotu vytvrzení. Cílem této práce byla mimo jiné analýza možnosti určení úrovně vytvrzení připravených vzorků epoxidové pryskyřice LH 198 pomocí metody FT-IR.

Abstract:

Infrared spectroscopy is a tool for identification and structural characterization of organic compounds and classification of inorganic substances. The introduction of infrared spectroscopy, description of several measuring techniques based on the Fourier transformation measurement of the ATR crystal, transmission measurement and modulated differential scanning calorimetry is described in the first part. The second part deals with thermosetting resins and with the curing process of resins. The process is dependent on many factors, for example, the temperature during mixing the hardener with an epoxide or the temperature program or the type of the hardener. The aim of this work is also to prepare samples of uncured resins and the analysis of the level of LH 198 by FT-IR method.
