Thematic unit Onthogenesis of animals ? comparison and analysis of terms used in biology textbooks at secondary school

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá četností pojmů v tématickém celku Ontogeneze živočichů v nejpoužívanějších učebnicích nižších a vyšších gymnázií v Ostravě. Analýza pojmů byla provedena z učiva 8 učebnic nižšího a 3 učebnic vyššího gymnázia. Cílem diplomové práce byla analýza pojmů z hlediska jejich četnosti, frekvence a způsobu uvedení v učebnici a následné porovnání výsledků mezi jednotlivými učebnicemi nižšího a vyššího gymnázia. V diplomové práci je prezentována současná struktura učiva zoologie na nižším a vyšším gymnáziu, jeho analýza v použitých učebnicích a základní charakteristiky pojmu, pojmotvorného procesu a hodnocení učebnic z hlediska didaktického zpracování učiva. Výsledky práce jsou uvedeny v tabulkách četností a dalších charakteristik pojmů. Analyzovány byly pojmy s celkovou četností 2019 pojmů v učebnicích pro nižší gymnázium a s celkovou četností 4030 pojmů v učebnicích pro gymnázium vyšší. Nejvyšší četnost pojmů v učebnicích nižšího gymnázia byla uvedena v učebnicích Přírodopis I, II, III (DOBRORUKA a kol., 1997, 1998, 1999), které obsahovaly 65 pojmů s celkovou četností 695 pojmů. Nejvyšší četnost pojmů v učebnicích vyššího gymnázia byla uvedena v učebnici Biologie pro gymnázia (JELÍNEK, ZICHÁČEK, 2007), která obsahovala 176 pojmů s celkovou četností 1705 pojmů.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the occurrence rate of terms in the theme chapter Ontogenesis of animals in the most used textbooks by high schools and colleges in Ostrava. The term analysis was conducted based on the curriculum in 8 high school textbooks and 3 college textbooks. The objective of the thesis was analysing terms from the point of view of their occurrence, frequency and utilisation in textbooks and subsequent comparison of the results between individual textbooks used by high schools and colleges. The thesis contains the current structure of the zoology curriculum in high schools and colleges, its analysis in the used textbooks and basic characteristics of the term, term-making process and evaluation of the textbooks from the point of view of the didactic execution of the curriculum. The results of the work are listed in the tables stating the occurrence rate and other characteristics of the terms. There were terms analysed with the entire occurrence rate of 2,019 in the textbooks for high schools and with the occurrence rate of 4,030 in the textbooks for colleges. The highest occurrence rate of the terms in the high school textbooks were in the Natural Science I, II, III (DOBRORUKA et col., 1997, 1998, 1999) textbooks which contained 65 terms with the entire occurrence rate of 695 terms. The highest occurrence rate of the terms in the college textbooks was in the Biology for colleges (JELÍNEK, ZICHÁČEK, 2007) textbooks which contained 176 terms with the entire occurrence rate of 1,705 terms.
