Subjective experiences psychedelics users: risks and demanding experiences

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou užívání nelegálních psychedelických látek v českém i mezinárodním prostředí se zaměřením na EU a problémy souvisejícími s ohrožením veřejného zdraví. Přehled literární rešerše čtenářům přibližuje problematiku v legislativním zakotvení s představením moderních přístupů k drogové situaci v EU a ČR. Následně jsou v literární rešerši představeny nejpopulárnější psychedelické látky s popisem jejich vlastností a účinků na lidský organismus. V poslední kapitole literární rešerše se diplomová práce zabývá užíváním psychedelických látek se zaměřením na neurologické účinky a možné typy léčby psychedelických zkušeností. Ve spolupráci s Národním ústavem duševního zdraví (NUDZ) na projektu „Aplikace výzkumných metod při tvorbě návrhu systému služeb pro uživatele psychedelik” (reg. č. TJ02000156), byl získán datový soubor odpovědí na otázku týkající se náročných psychedelických zkušeností. Tento datový soubor byl následně analyzován a převeden do formy souvislého textu tvořeného citovanými odpověďmi. Na závěr jsou představeny zahraniční studie zabývající se podobnou problematikou psychedelických látek.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the issue of the use of illegal psychedelic substances in the Czech Republic and international environment with a focus on the EU and problems related to threats to public health. A literature review introduces the readers to the issue of legislative setting with a presentation of modern approaches to the drug situation in the EU and the Czech Republic. Subsequently, the literature review introduces the most popular psychedelic substances with a description of their characteristics and effects on human organism. In the last chapter of the literature search, the thesis deals with the use of psychedelic substances with a focus on neurological effects and possible types of treatment for psychedelic experiences. In collaboration with the National Institute of Mental Health (NUDZ) on the project "Application of research methods in creating a design of a system of services for users of psychedelics" (Reg. No. TJ02000156), a dataset of responses to a question regarding demanding psychedelic experiences was obtained. This dataset was subsequently analyzed and converted into a coherent text consisting of the quoted responses. At the end international studies focusing on the similar psychedelic issues are presented.
