Mysticism and Occult in Fantasy Literature
Abstract:
Tato diplomová práce se zabývá výskytem prvků mysticismu a okultismu ve vybraných dílech autorů fantasy žánru, Johna Ronalda Reuela Tolkiena a Christophera Paoliniho. Hlavní pozornost je věnována analýze těchto prvků v knihách, Silmarillion, Pán Prstenů: Společenstvo Prstenu a Eragon, s cílem určit, jak mysticismus a okultismus ovlivňuje zobrazení postav a vývoj příběhu v těchto dílech.
Abstract:
This master’s thesis deals with the occurrence of mysticism and occult elements in the selected works of the fantasy genre authors, John Ronald Reuel Tolkien and Christopher Paolini. The main part of the thesis is dedicated to analysis of these elements in the books, The Silmarillion, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, and Eragon, with the goal of determining how mysticism and occult …more
