Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na existenciální témata v tvorbě Jana Paula a Josefa Bolfa. Reflektuje vývoj námětů obou autorů a zabývá se vnitřními tendencemi, které umělce k těmto motivům vedly. Zároveň zkoumá, do jaké míry charakter jejich prací vykazuje znaky arteterapie. První část práce je věnována Janu Paulovi, po krátkém nástinu jeho kariéry je čtenář seznámen s fakty, které jsou důvodem pro současnou podobu jeho děl. Druhá část se stejným způsobem zabývá Josefem Bolfem. Následně je nastolena a zpracována otázka, do jaké míry se autoři věnují arteterapii a zdali se jedná o vědomou či podvědomou práci. V poslední fázi je provedena komparace tvorby obou autorů a jsou vymezeny znaky, ve kterých se shodují a rozcházejí. Cílem práce bylo určit rozdílné a společné složky tvorby Jana Paula a Josefa Bolfa se zaměřením na existenciální témata a arteterapii. Na základě definic arteterapie a názorů autorů dedukuji, že ani jeden nepopírá vliv výtvarného umění v oblasti psychologie, ale zároveň se nejedná o primární a vědomou složku v jejich tvorbě. Z komparace vyplývá, že hlavním společným rysem obou autorů je určitá melancholičnost jejich děl, která pramení z podstatně rozdílných důvodů.

Abstract:

This diploma theses deals with existential motifs in work of Jan Paul and Josef Bolf. It reflects the development of the main themes of both artists and their tendencies that led them to those themes. The theses also depicts the possible features of art therapy in the works of authors. The first part of this theses focuses on Jan Paul, his career and some facts about his life that form his current work. Similarly, the second part focuses on Josef Bolf. As a follow-up the theses is trying to answer the question whether the works of Paul and Bolf are the products of art therapy and how much are the works influenced by it subconsciously or intentionally. The last part of the theses represents the comparison of the works of both artists and the features of those works that are similar. The aim of the theses is to determine the common motifs of Paul and Bolf, the existential motifs and motif known from art therapy. Based on the definition of art therapy and based on the statements of both authors I deduce they are not denying the psychological influence on their work but they are also do not consider it to be the intentional strategy of theirs working. The comparison of their works shows that the common feature of their works is the melancholy which, however, has the different origins at the specific author.
