Attitudes of social services towards a gender, sexually and relationally diverse clientele

Abstract:

Cílem mé práce je přiblížení postojů poskytovatelů sociálních služeb k genderově, sexuálně a vztahově rozmanité klientele. Tato práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí - teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na klíčové pojmy jako jsou postoje, tolerance a respekt, které hrají klíčovou roli v sociální práci. Dále se věnuje vymezení sociální práce a sociálních služeb. Následně se v teoretické části zabývá genderově, sexuálně a vztahově rozmanitou klientelou a popisuji současnou situaci GSVR osob nejen v České republice. Praktická část přibližuje použité metody a postupy pro provedení výzkumu. Tato část také zmiňuje cíle výzkumu, výzkumné otázky, průběh sběru dat a výběr výzkumného vzorku. Pro svou práci jsem se rozhodla využít kvalitativní metodologii a sběr dat probíhal pomocí polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Získaná data byla analyzována metodou tematické analýzy. Výzkumné otázky byly stanoveny na základě tématu práce a odpovědi byly získány od čtyř informací, kteří reprezentují čtyři různé sociální služby. Z výsledků výzkumu vyplývá, že postoje k GSVR klientele ze strany sociálních služeb jsou spíše bez zájmu což by mohlo ovlivňovat kvalitu poskytovaných služeb.

Abstract:

The aim of my work is to present the attitudes of social service providers towards gender, sexual, and relationship diverse clients. This thesis is divided into two main parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on key concepts such as attitudes, tolerance, and respect, which play a crucial role in social work. It also examines the definition of social work and social services. Subsequently, the theoretical part delves into gender, sexual, and relationship diverse clientele and describes the current situation of GSRD individuals, not only in the Czech Republic. The practical part presents the methods and procedures used to conduct the research. This part also outlines the research objectives, research questions, data collection process, and the selection of the research sample. For my thesis, I decided to use qualitative methodology, and data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews. The collected data was analyzed using the thematic analysis method. The research questions were formulated based on the thesis topic, and the answers were obtained from four informants representing four different social services. The research results indicate that attitudes towards GSRD clientele from social services are generally indifferent, which could affect the quality of services provided.
