Internationalization in Specialized Texts

Abstract:

Anotace: Tato diplomová práce se zaobírá chápáním pojmů internacionalizace, nacionalizace, intelektualizace – demokratizace a terminologizace – determinologizace v obecném a lingvistickém pojetí a chce ukázat, že se zejména dva první procesy, chápané důsledně v dichotomickém vztahu, týkají jak slovní zásoby, tak kompozice textů a v některých obdobích i jazyka vědeckých komunikátů jako celku. V druhé části práce jsou získané poznatky aplikovány na vybrané oblasti odborné komunikace, konkrétně na texty českého botanického časopisu Preslia.

Abstract:

Annotation The diploma thesis deals with comprehension of terms such as internationalization, nationalization, intellectualization/democratization and terminologization/determinologization in general and in the scope of linguistic approach; it intends to prove that particularly the first two processes, understood in strictly dichotomic relation, affect vocabulary as well as composition of texts and in some periods they also have impact on the language of scientific communicates as a whole. In the second part of the thesis, the acquired knowledge is applied to texts from a selected area of scientific communication, namely to texts published in the Czech botanic journal Preslia.
