Abstract:

V této diplomové práci jsem se zabýval výzkumem syntézy 4'-(1-adamantyl)bifenyl-4-amoniových solí. Tato práce spadá do oblasti supramolekulární chemie a byla realizována v kontextu dlouhodobých aktivit výzkumné skupiny. Mým cílem byla syntéza ligandu na bázi bifenyladamantylamoniové soli a výzkum jeho chování v systémech s cucurbit[n]urily nebo cyklodextriny. Výchozí látkou byl 1 bromadamantan, který jsem nechal reagovat s bifenylem v přítomnosti Lewisovy kyseliny, která sloužila jako katalyzátor. Výtěžky se lišily podle použité Lewisovy kyseliny, přičemž jako nejlepší se ukázal InCl3, kdy reakce poskytla výtěžek 57 %. Struktura bifenyladamantanu byla potvrzena pomocí 1H a 13C NMR spektroskopie. Dalším krokem byla nitrace, která však nebyla úspěšná. Získal jsem pouze těžko rozlišitelnou směs produktů, podle GC-MS. Proto byla navržena syntéza ligandu s methylenovou spojkou mezi bifenylem a amoniovým kationtem. Toho jsem dosáhl pomocí reakce adamantylbifenylu s urotropinem za přítomnosti trifluoroctové kyseliny. Dále jsem provedl reakci s bromem s cílem připravit p-bromovaný adamantylbifenyl a acetylaci adamantylbifenylu, jejíž produktem měl být p-acetylovaný derivát. V současné době jsou k dispozici tyto tři varianty dalšího postupu a snahou do budoucna bude jejich optimalizace a následné převedení meziproduktů, přes aminoderivát a kvarternizaci, na požadované amoniové soli. U finálních ligandů pak budou zkoumány jejich supramolekulární vlastnosti.

Abstract:

In this diploma thesis, we study the synthesis and supramolecular properties of 4'-(1-adamantyl)biphenyl-4-ammonium salts. This work belongs to the category of supramolecular chemistry and was led in the context of the working group. We aimed to synthesize the abovementioned ligand and study its behavior in systems with cucurbit[n]urils or cyclodextrins. 1-Bromoadmantane, our starting substance, was reacted with biphenyl in the presence of Lewis acid as a catalyst. The yield of this reaction depended on the nature of Lewis acid. The best results were achieved using InCl3 creating a single isomer of the product in the yield of 57 %. The structure of adamantylbiphenyl was confirmed using 1H and 13C NMR. A nitration was the next step but it was not successful. There was a hardly separable mixture of substances according to GC-MS. Therefore, we tested another possible route for synthesis to prepare a ligand of one carbon longer in chain. That was achieved via a reaction of adamantyl biphenyl with urotropine in trifluoroacetic acid. Another reaction was performed with bromine to prepare p-bromoderivative of adamantylbiphenyl. Finally, acetylation was tried to create the p-acetylated product. Currently, there are these three ways, and we will try to figure out how to proceed. The near future aim is to optimize synthetic protocols, prepare desired ligands and determine their supramolecular properties.
