Zameraním práce je definovanie subjektov obchodného práva a pojmu ,,podnikateľ". Autorka skúma jednotlivé subjekty a popisuje za akých podmienok sa stávajú subjektmi obchodného práva. Práca sa delí na štyri kapitoly. Prvá kapitola charakterizuje obchodné právo a právnu úpravu podnikania. Druhá kapitola popisuje štyri skupiny subjektov obchodného práva.
