Dramaturgical Tools of Stagiones

Abstract:

Diplomová práce zjišťuje, jaké dramaturgické nástroje využívají české stagiony při sestavování programu, a hodnotí míru jejich aktivity v této oblasti.První kapitoly obsahují vymezení pojmu stagiona v českém prostředí, popis české sítě stagionových divadel, teorii stagionové dramaturgie a definici aktivních a pasivních dramaturgických nástrojů.Následuje kvalitativní část výzkumu založená na studiu písemných zdrojů popisujících dramaturgickou praxi stagion, ale i na rozhovorech se zástupci čtyř českých stagionových divadel, a to Divadla Oskara Nedbala Tábor, olomouckého Divadla na Šantovce a pražských Jatek78 a Divadla Archa. Výstupem části je přehled zjištěných dramaturgických nástrojů.Kvantitativní výzkum potom zjišťuje, v jaké míře české stagiony jednotlivé nástroje využívají. Zjištění jsou uváděna v kontextu vybraných charakteristik zúčastněných institucí. Na základě matematického modelu je určen poměr užívání aktivních a pasivních nástrojů, čímž byla vyvrácena hypotéza, že u stagion výrazně převládá práce s pasivními nástroji.

Abstract:

This master’s thesis aims to ascertain what dramaturgical tools are used by Czech stagiones for programming and evaluates the rate of their activity in such field. The opening chapters include defining the term stagiona (stagione) in the Czech context, a description of the network of stagione theatres in the Czech Republic, a theory of the dramaturgy of stagiones and a definition of active and passive dramaturgical tools.The following qualitative part of the research is based on a study of written resources, which describe the dramaturgical practice of stagiones, and on interviews with the representatives of four of them: Divadlo Oskara Nedbala Tábor, Divadlo na Šantovce in Olomouc, and Divadlo Archa and Jatka78 in Prague. The outcome of this part is a list of the ascertained dramaturgical tools.The quantitative research then finds the rate of employment of the individual tools by the Czech stagiones. The results are presented in a context of chosen characteristics of the responding institutions. On the basis of a mathematical model, the paper assesses the ratio of the usage of the active and passive tools and disproves the hypothesis that passive tools prevail in the dramaturgical processes of staigones.
