Tall-herb vegetation of the south Moravian forest-steppe

Abstract:

Vegetace s dominancí vysokých bylin je důležitou součástí lesostepní mozaiky. Je ale často přehlížena a ze syntaxonomického pohledu chápána nejednoznačně. Hlavním cílem mé diplomové práce je popsat teplomilnou vegetaci s převahou vysokých bylin na jižní Moravě a její postavení ve vegetační mozaice. Druhové složení těchto porostů jsem zaznamenávala pomocí fytocenologických snímků během vegetačních sezón 2020 a 2021. Zapsala jsem celkem 43 snímků, které jsem dále doplnila o data z České národní fytocenologické databáze. Výsledný soubor 224 snímků jsem klasifikovala metodou Modifikovaný Twinspan do čtyř vegetačních typů a jeden z nich jsem dále rozdělila na tři podtypy. Výslednou klasifikaci jsem zobrazila v ordinačním diagramu pomocí DCA. Vzniklé vegetační typy se liší svým rozšířením na jižní Moravě a ekologickými nároky. Nejvíce mezofilní a druhově bohatá jsou společenstva rozšířená v Bílých Karpatech. Na okraji Českého masivu rostou nejsvětlomilnější společenstva s acidofilními druhy. Bazifilní skalní vysokobylinná vegetace s dominancí Geranium sanguineum, Origanum vulgare a Vincetoxicum hirundinaria se vyskytuje zejména v Moravském krasu a na Pálavě. Vegetační typ vyskytující se v centrální části jižní Moravy zejména na sprašovém podloží jsem rozdělila na tři podtypy. První z nich je podobný širokolistým stepním trávníkům, druhý je vázán převážně na lemy lesů a křovin a třetí často představuje sukcesní stadium mezi stepními trávníky a křovinami. Na závěr jsem tuto klasifikaci porovnala s publikovanými syntaxonomickými jednotkami. Vegetační typy rozlišené v této práci se do jisté míry liší od vegetačních jednotek popsaných v literatuře, byly identifikovány vegetační typy nerozlišované v současné národní klasifikaci.

Abstract:

Vegetation dominated by tall herbs is an important component of forest-steppe mosaics, but is often overlooked and not well understood from a phytosociological perspective. The main aim of my master's thesis was to describe thermophilous tall-herb dominated vegetation in South Moravia and its position in the vegetation mosaics. I recorded the species composition of these stands using phytosociological relevés in the 2020 and 2021 vegetation seasons. I recorded 43 relevés and completed the dataset with relevés from the Czech National Phytosociological Database. Using the Modified Twinspan method, I classified the dataset containing 224 relevés into four vegetation types and I further divided one of them into three subtypes. I displayed the resulting classification in the ordination diagram using DCA. The resulting vegetation types differ in their distribution in South Moravia and their ecological demands. The most mesophilous and species-rich community is distributed in the White Carpathians. At the border of the Bohemian massif grows the most heliophilous community with acidophilous species. Basiphilous tall-herb communities at the rock outcrops dominated by Geranium sanguineum, Origanum vulgare and Vincetoxicum hirundinaria can be found in the Moravian Karst and the Pálava. The vegetation type from the central part of south Moravia, which grows mainly on the loess substrate, was divided into three subtypes. One of them is closer to the steppe grasslands, the second is mainly connected to the margins of forests and shrublands, and the third one often represents the succession stadium between the steppe grasslands and shrublands. Finally, this classification was compared with the vegetation units described in the literature. The communities were distinguished differently, and some vegetation types not included in the current classification of the vegetation of the Czech Republic were identified.
