Náklady generativní reprodukce hlíznaté mediteránní orchideje Serapias lingua

Abstract:

Cílem mé diplomové práce bylo kvantifikovat náklady generativní reprodukce realizované na úkor zásobních látek v hlízách mediteránní orchideje Serapias lingua a zejména pokusit se urit, zda limitující roli v dalším rstu a kvetení má nízký obsah N a P v pletivech rostlin. Byl proveden dvouletý nádobový kultivaní experiment, ve kterém byly v obou sezónách zjišovány morfometrické parametry všech pokusných rostlin. Hlavními sledovanými parametry byly erstvé hmotnosti zásobních hlíz po jednotlivých sezónách, z nichž byly vypoteny relativní rychlosti rstu, a poty kvt vytváené jednotlivými pokusnými rostlinami. U skupiny pokusných objekt bylo provedeno runí opylení jednoho až dvou kvt. V semenech všech opylených jedinc a hlízách vybraných kvetoucích opylených, kvetoucích neopylených i nekvetoucích jedinc byl po mineralizaci stanoven obsah dusíku a fosforu. Výsledky experimentu ukázaly na dva znaky, které prokazují existenci NGR realizovaných na úkor zásobních látek v hlízách. Prvním z nich bylo statisticky prkazné snížení hodnot RGR u kvetoucích a kvetoucích opylených rostlin oproti rostlinám nekvetoucím po první i druhé sezón. Druhým indikátorem NGR je asi jen 50% pravdpodobnost, že rostlina kvetoucí v jedné sezón znovu pokvete v sezón následující. Naproti tomu náklady spojené s tvorbou plod a semen byly u pokusných rostlin v obou sezónách statisticky neprkazné a náklady na tvorbu kvt lze tedy u tohoto druhu považovat za výrazn vyšší oproti dalším nákladm, spjatým s tvorbou semen. Limitace následného rstu a reprodukce pedchozí generativní reprodukcí nebyla u pokusných rostlin S. lingua zpsobena sníženým obsahem dusíku nebo fosforu v zásobních hlízách, o emž svdí negativní korelace mezi obsahem tchto živin v hlíze a její hodnotou RGR. Z dvodu možné odlišnosti ekologických podmínek na pírodních lokalitách a podmínek zajišovaných s pomocí skleníkové kultivace by bylo by velice vhodné srovnat výsledky tohoto kultivaního experimentu s terénní studií NGR S. lingua. Z dvodu regulaní role mykorrhizní symbiózy v hospodaení orchidejí s uhlíkatými látkami a minerálními živinami by bylo pi studiu podstaty limitace následného rstu a reprodukce pedchozí generativní reprodukce velmi výhodné provést obdobný experiment, v nmž by byly srovnávány nemykorrhizními a mykorrhizní rostliny tohoto druhu.

Abstract:

The aim of my diploma theses was to quantify costs of generative reproduction, reflected in the decresed content of storage compounds in the tubers of a Mediterranean orchid Serapias lingua. I tried to determine whether nitrogen and phosphorus content in the storage organs limits subsequent growth and flowering after previous generative reproduction. In a two-year pot experiment I recorded morphometric parameters of all (n=334) experimental plants: fresh mass of resting storage organs (tubers), from which the relative growth rates were calculated, as well as number of flowers of individual plants. There was seted up a group of flowering plant, a half of which was hand-pollinated (one or two flowers), whereas the rest plants remained unpollinated. Nitrogen and phosphorus content was determined specrophotometrically in seeds of all pollinated plants and in a sample of flowering non-pllinated or non-flowering plants. The cost of reproduction was clearly reflected in two phenomena. The first one was the statistically significant decrease of RGR values calculated for flowering non-pollinated and flowering pollinated plants in comparison with non-flowering plants in both growing seasons. The second one is low probability of repeated flowering (approx. 50 %) in a season following the previous flowering. The costs asociated with the floweiring plus seeds formation did not differ from these of flowering alone and the costs of seed formation can be thus regarded as being much lower in comparison with the costs of flowering. However, the growth and reproduction regression was not caused in S. lingua by a lower content of N aP in their storage tissues there was a statistically significant negative correlation between the content of these nutrients and the corresponding values of RGR. The conditions under which the plants were cultivated in a cold greenhouse can differ from these on the natural habitats. For this reason, it would be very usefull to compare the results obtained in this study with a similar, but a field study. The regulation role of orchid mycorrhiza in the metabolism of energy-rich C compounds (non-structural saccharides) and mineral nutrients is discussed and the possible use of orchids with reduced or eliminated mycorrhiza development in a future reasearch is suggested.
