Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies in Occupational Therapy in Children

Abstract:

Abstrakt V úvodu práce se věnuji analýze dostupných zdrojů na téma hiporehabilitace a její způsoby využití v rehabilitaci dětských klientů. Cílem práce je ozřejmit fakt, že hiporehabilitace může být vhodným nástrojem pro ergoterapeutickou intervenci, především u dětí. Metodikou mé práce je případová studie dvou dětských klientů s odlišnými diagnózami. Na základě vstupního zhodnocení byl stanoven krátkodobý ergoterapeutický cíl a plán. Následovala 10tidenní hiporehabilitační intervence a výstupní hodnocení po němž byl stanoven plán dlouhodobý. Lze pozorovat zlepšení obou klientů. Hodnotím tedy hipotehabilitaci jako vhodnou intervenci v ergoterapii dětí.

Abstract:

The introduction of the study deals with analysis of available sources on equine assisted therapy and ways of it´s application in rehabilitation of child clients. This study aims to clarify how equine assisted therapy can be a convenient means for occupational therapy intervention, especially with children. My research methods contain the case study of two child clients with different diagnoses. After introductory evaluation short-term occupational therapy aim and plan were set, followed by 10 days equine assisted therapy intervention and final evaluation. Then long-term plan was set. Certain improvement can be seen in both clients. I therefore conclude that equine assisted therapy is a convenient intervention in child ergotherapy.
