Transition of people with mental illness and mental disability from a psychiatric hospital to residential social services

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o specificích přechodu osob s duševním onemocněním a mentálním postižením z psychiatrické nemocnice do pobytové sociální služby a snaží se popsat stav, který může odhalovat možné příčiny zpětných hospitalizací. V teoretické části jsou popsány východiska práce, terminologie i přehled zkoumané problematiky. Dále se obsah teoretické části zamýšlí nad oblastmi duševního onemocnění, včetně jejich kategorizace a specifikami mentální retardace podle rozsahu a míry postižení. V další části popisuje možnosti podpory přímo v nemocničním zařízení, konkrétně v psychiatrické nemocnici, monitoruje přechod a podporu později v zařízení pobytové sociální služby, zde zase konkrétně v chráněném bydlení. Ve výzkumné části, která navazuje na teoretický vhled, jsou zachyceny 3 případové studie, které vycházejí z autorových osobních zkušeností konkrétních osob. Jsou popsány z různých pohledů zainteresovaných stran příklady přechodů osob s duševním onemocněním a mentálním postižením, které procházely opakované hospitalizace v původní psychiatrické nemocnici. Jsou viditelné různé vlivy subjektů na člověka, které na něj působí a přímo či nepřímo ovlivňují chod jeho života a také práci nemocnice a pobytové služby.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with specific transitions of people with mental illness and mental disability from psychiatric hospitals to residential social services and tries to describe a condition that can reveal possible causes of return hospitalizations. The theoretical part describes the basic work, terminology and an overview of the researched problems. Furthermore, the content of the theoretical part considers the areas of mental illness, including their categorization and specifics of mental retardation according to the extent and degree of disability. In the next part he describes the possibilities of support directly in the hospital facility, specifically in the psychiatric hospital, monitors the transition and support further in the residential social service facility, here again specifically in sheltered housing. In the research part, which follows the theoretical overview, 3 case studies are captured, which are based on the author's personal experiences of specific individuals. Examples of crossings of people with mental illness and disability who undergo repeated hospitalization in the original psychiatric hospital are described from different perspectives of stakeholders. Various influences of subjects on a person are visible, which affect them and directly or indirectly affect the course of his life and work in the hospital and residential services.
