Assessment of motor skills in preschool children aged 5-6 years old by means of a test MABC-2

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá diagnostikou motorických dovedností u dětí předškolního věku 5-6 let pomocí testové baterie MABC-2. Ta posuzuje úroveň jemné motoriky, hrubé motoriky a rovnováhy. Výsledky pak poukazují na celkové hodnocení testové skupiny a následné zařazení do třech daných skupin. Dále jsou porovnány jednotlivé komponenty u dětí s řízenou pohybovou aktivitou a dětí s neřízenou pohybovou aktivitou. V neposlední řadě je zde uvedeno percentuálně srovnání chlapců a dívek z našeho testového vzorku s obdobnou studií. V teoretických východiscích je charakterizován předškolní věk, motorika a motorický vývoj. Je vysvětlen rozdíl mezi motorickými dovednostmi a schopnostmi. Jsou zde uvedeny příklady nejčastějších motorických testů a zváženy klady a zápory řízené pohybové aktivity. V praktické části dochází k samotnému testování a následnému vyhodnocení ve formě tabulek či grafů. Potvrzené či vyvrácené hypotézy jsou statisticky ověřeny. V úplném závěru se zamýšlíme nejen nad potřebou, ale také proveditelností tohoto testování v podmínkách běžné MŠ.

Abstract:

This work is devoted to the diagnostics of motor skills in children of preschool age 5-6 years, with the aid of Movement Assessment Battery for Children MABC-2. This is used to assess the level of fine motor skills, gross motor skills and balance skills. The results then point to the overall rating of the tested group and the subsequent placement to three given groups. Further, there are compared particular components in children with controlled physical activity and in children with uncontrolled physical activity, Last but not least, a comparison of percentage results of our test sample of boys and girls with a parallel study is presented here. In theoretical bases, preschool age, motor skills and motor development are characterized. The difference between motor skills and motor abilities is explained. Examples of most common motor skill tests are presented and the pluses and minuses of controlled physical activity are considered. In the practical part, the testing itself and subsequent assessment in the form of tables and graphs is given. Last of all we discuss not only needs but also feasibility of this testing in conditions of an ordinary kindergarten.
