Overview of selected psychophysiological correlates of the degree of training load of athletes in adolescence during training season

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo prozkoumat možnosti sledování obrazu (úrovně) fyziologických parametrů sportovní zátěže (srdeční a dechová frekvence) v kontextu subjektivně udávané míry psychických aspektů zátěže, s akcentem na identifikaci a deskripci hraničních případů. Sledované parametry a design výzkumu vychází ze specifického výzkumného projektu Masarykovy univerzity (MUNI/51/05/2018) s názvem „Analýza vybraných parametrů míry zatížení sportovce v jednotlivých obdobích ročního tréninkového cyklu“. Studie měla zkrácený longitudinální design, který byl realizován prostřednictvím tří měření u vybrané skupiny sportovců (N=47) ve vývojovém období adolescence, a to v průběhu roční tréninkové a soutěžní přípravy. Mezi nejvýznamnější zjištění studie patří těsné signifikantní vztahy mezi klidovou srdeční frekvencí a klidovou dechovou frekvencí (všechna měření). Dále byl zjištěn slabší negativní vztah mezi únavou a klidovou srdeční frekvencí (druhé a třetí měření). V rámci výzkumného vzorku byly identifikovány a popsány hraniční hodnoty dvou sportovců. Získané poznatky jsou námětem pro další výzkumy týkající se dané problematiky, jelikož tak jako spousta dalších studií poukazují na variabilitu výsledků a podtrhují tak důležitost sledovat zvládání míry tréninkové zátěže zejména komplexně, za využití více metod a kombinace přístupů relevantních vědních disciplín.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was to explore the possibilities of monitoring of the level of selected physiological correlates of training load (heart and breathing frequency) in the context of the subjectively reported degree of psychological aspects of load with identification and description of borderline cases. The monitored parameters and research design are based on the research project „Analýza vybraných parametrů míry zatížení sportovce v jednotlivých obdobích ročního tréninkového cyklu” (MUNI/51/05/2018). The study had an abbreviated longitudinal design, which was performed through three measures in a group of athletes (N=47) in adolescence during the yearly training and competition preparation. Among the most important findings of this thesis are significant relations between resting heart rate and resting respiratory frequency (all measures). Furthermore, a weaker negative relation was found between fatigue and resting heart rate (second and third measures). Within the research sample, the limit values of two athletes were identified and described. The findings are a subject-matter of further research on this issue. As like many other studies they point to the variability of results and underline the importance of comprehensive monitoring of the degree of training load, using multiple methods and a combination of approaches from relevant scientific disciplines.
