Law as an Utopia

Abstract:

Ve své práci jsem se zabývala právními systémy v utopických světech vybraných autorů. Cílem mé práce bylo představit několik nejvýznamnějších utopií a dystopií a poukázat na jejich státní uspořádání. Nebylo jednoduché vybrat ze široké nabídky utopických děl a tak jsem použila ty, které se mi zdály jako nejvhodnější pro porovnání se současným právním stavem ve světě a které měly značný vliv jak ve své době, a zároveň sloužily jako východisko pro novější autory.

Abstract:

In my thesis I will concentrate on legal systems in utopian worlds created by chosen authors. My goal is to introduce the most important utopias and dystopias and their state organisations. Both in the past and in the present, many people have tried to come with an idea of an ideal system, therefore it was difficult to choose from the wide variety of utopian works. As I wanted to compare and confront utopias and reality, I focused on utopias that seemed the most relevant to contemporary legal conditions in the world. Also, the chosen works were influential in their time and often served as a starting point for later authors.
