Senior's Living with Alzheimer's Disease

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývala postupem Alzheimerovi demence u uživatelů Domova důchodců. Jejím cílem bylo zjistit, s jakými základními formami Alzheimerovi choroby se setkávají pracovníci v domovech důchodců u svých klientů. Práci tvořili dvě stěžejní oblasti. Jednalo se o část teoretickou, která popisovala a objasňovala základní pojmosloví s oblasti vzniku, průběhu a léčby Alzheimerovi choroby. Empirická část zjišťovala pomocí kazuistiky, s jakými formami Alzheimerovi choroby se setkávají rodinní příslušníci i pracovníci rezidenčních zařízení. Výsledky ukazovaly, že průběh tohoto onemocnění je formou nezvratnou a vede ke zhoršování zdravotního stavu klientů. Zjištění vyústila v konkrétní opatření v práci s klientem v průběhu vlastního onemocnění. Za největší přínos práce vzhledem k řešené problematice bylo možné považovat zjištění, že některými prostředky se dá průběh onemocnění zpomalit, a tím po delší dobu udržet v současném životním standardu.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis dealt with the Alzheimer's disease process in occupants of the Retirement home. Its aim was to determine what basic forms of Alzheimer's disease are experienced by workers in nursing homes with their clients. The work consisted of two main areas. The theoretical part described and explained the basic terminology of the area of origin, process and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Using case studies, the empirical part examined what forms of Alzheimer's disease family members and staff of residential facilities may encounter. The results showed that the progression of this disease is an irreversible form and leads to the deterioration of the health status of clients. The findings resulted in specific measures in working with the client during the illness. The greatest benefit of the work in relation to discussed problems can be considered as finding that certain agents can slow the progress of the disease, and thus to maintain the current living standards for a longer period of time.
