Cílem této práce je analyzovat vývoj reprezentace leseb v animovaných seriálech pro děti v dekádách od 1990 po 2020. Práce porovnává jednotlivé reprezentace s politickým prostředím dob, ve kterých se nacházeli. Dále je poukázáno na to, že pozitivní vnímání queer komunity společností ovlivnil množství a kvalitu těchto reprezentací. Bylo zjištěno, že pohlaví reprezentovaných postav je také ovlivněno trhem s hračkami. Kvůli způsobu, jakým si děti hrají, je v jejich seriálech více leseb než gayů.

Abstract:

This thesis analyzes the evolution of representation of lesbian characters in children’s animated media from the 1990s to the 2020s. It compares each instance of representation to the political environment at the time. It also highlights how the increasingly positive reception of the queer community influenced the amount and quality of the representation. It is also dis-covered that gender of represented characters is in part dictated by the toy market and con-sumerism. Because of the nature of children’s playstyles, there is more diverse lesbian repre-sentation than gay representation.
