Economic relations between the Czech Republic and the Russian Federation after the introduction of EU economic sanctions against Russia.

Abstract:

As a member of the European Union, the Czech Republic was one of the countries that imposed sanctions on Russia. Recent political events, as well as the decline of the Russian economy, may have led to the disruption of such economic relations between the two countries. It was assumed that this would affect trade and economic relations between the two countries. However, the author notes that in the following years, economic cooperation returned to its previous high level, but its further growth almost stopped. The economic sanctions imposed by the EU on Russia, as well as Moscow's retaliatory measures in combination with the weakening of the ruble and lower energy prices, have further complicated Russian-Czech cooperation. However, after several years, the economic and political actors of the two countries have adapted to the new conditions, which, together with economic pragmatism, has led to the revival of bilateral foreign economic relations. In this paper, the author attempts to consider the Czech-Russian relations as an example of 6 well-established bilateral relations, where, despite the presence of contradictions, a pragmatic perception of each other remains and there is potential for further improvement. Thus, the author gave a comprehensive analysis of trade and economic relations between Russia and the Czech Republic after the introduction of economic sanctions against Russia.

Abstract:

Česká republika byla jako člen Evropské unie jednou ze zemí, které uvalily sankce na Rusko. Nedávné politické události, stejně jako pokles ruské ekonomiky, vedly k porušení hospodářských vztahů mezi oběma zeměmi. Mělo to ovlivnit obchodní a hospodářské vztahy mezi oběma zeměmi. Autor však podotýká, že v následujících letech se hospodářská interakce vrátila na předchozí vysokou úroveň, ale její další růst se téměř zastavil. Hospodářské sankce uvalené EU na Rusko, stejně jako reakce Moskvy v souvislosti s oslabením rublu a nižšími cenami energií dále zkomplikovaly rusko-českou spolupráci. Po několika letech se však hospodářské a politické aktéry obou zemí přizpůsobily novým podmínkám, které spolu s ekonomickým pragmatismem vedly k obnovení bilaterálních zahraničněpolitických vazeb. V této prácí autor se snaží považovat česko-ruské vztahy za příklad navázáných bilaterálních vazeb, kde navzdory existenci rozporů zůstává pragmatické vnímání jeden druhého a existuje potenciál pro další zlepšení. Autor tak provádí komplexní analýzu obchodních a ekonomických vztahů mezi Ruskem a Českou republikou po zavedení ekonomických sankcí proti Rusku.
